Graduated from Albuquerque Academy H.S. in New Mexico in 2012...had a big junior season in 2011 as he was named first-team All-State and set a New Mexico season record with 19 home runs...battled injuries his senior year and was drafted by Boston in the 29th round of the June 2012 draft... opted to attend LSU...Received many accolades in his three years at LSU, including his junior season of 2015... named a First-Team All-American, was a Gold Glove Award winner and was a Golden Spikes Award finalist, which goes to the top collegiate player in the country...Finished his career batting .337 (265x786) with 56 doubles, 10 triples, 21 homers, 148 RBI, 153 runs and 66 stolen bases... committed just nine errors in 359 chances...Played in the 2015 Houston College Classic at Minute Maid Park for LSU and was named to the All-Tournament Team hitting .385 (5x13), with three runs scored, a double, and three stolen bases...Drafted with the second overall selection in the June 2015 draft...signed by Astros scout Justin Cryer...Is the National Fund Chair for the LSU Alumni Association...helps LSU raise dollars through the LSU Alumni Association Alumni Fund to support scholarships, professorships, faculty awards and other programs of excellence that touch all areas of university life...Helped establish the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, which directed donations toward the Louisiana Flood Relief Fund after devastating floods hit the southern Louisiana region...various MLB and LSU alumni joined Bregman in creating the foundation...Was added to the Astros 40-man roster on July 25, 2016...is currently signed through the 2017 season.

Began his professional career after signing with the club on June 25...split his season between Class A Quad Cities (29g) and Class A Advanced Lancaster (37g) combining to hit .294 (80x272) with 13 doubles, four home runs, 34 RBI and a .366 on-base percentage...played 29 games for Quad Cities, hitting .259 (29x112) with five doubles, one home run and 13 RBI before a promotion to Lancaster on July 27...finished his season with the JetHawks hitting .319 (51x160) with eight doubles, four triples, three home runs, 21 RBI and an .839 OPS in the regular season...had a tough start at Lancaster, going 2x19 in his first five games...rebounded to hit .377 (43x114) with 20 RBI in 26 games in August...played in three postseason games for Lancaster, going 3x14 with a double and three RBI.
